Wavio Records: The Momentum Continues

Updated: Oct 30

October has been another milestone month for Wavio Records, with back-to-back releases and major moves across the board.

First up, Krids made his long-awaited return to the electronic scene with Try It Out featuring Zulu Abantu. This energetic house track marks Krids’ first official single since his comeback, and it’s already reminding fans why his chemistry with Zulu is unmatched. The duo have proven time and again that when their worlds collide, the results are electric. Speaking on The Wavio Way! Podcast, Krids said:

“I enjoy rapping and we made a great track called All I Need, but I’m a DJ first. Who knows, I might be a singer next week — but right now, I’m focusing on my return to the electronic scene.”

Meanwhile, Khayor followed up with Abena (Live) — a stripped-down, soulful rendition of Tom Prod X’s original production. With RanguBown on keys, this version takes the already masterful record to new emotional depths, showcasing Khayor’s vocal range and raw expression.

When I first signed for Wavio I said I wanted to work with proper musicians,” Khayor said. “Abena (Live) was an opportunity to work with RanguBown, who’s wicked on the piano.”

The Abena (Live) music video drops Sunday, 26th October at 6PM, and it’s one not to miss.

Msiz’Kay also made waves with his latest collaboration alongside rising Nigerian artist Delvin, featuring Zulu Abantu. 'Just My Turn' unites Zimbabwe, Nigeria and the UK, perfectly embodying Wavio’s mission to empower African talent. The track has already received airplay on Zimbabwe’s leading station StarFM, where Msiz’Kay was interviewed about the creative process.

Produced by RanguBown, Just My Turn blends the smooth bounce of West African Afrobeats with the groove of Southern African Amapiano — a signature Wavio fusion.

“This single is just the start of the next chapter of my career,” he said. “Working with Wavio Records, we’re about to drop my EP starting with the opening single Hello.”

Msiz’Kay returns with Hello, the first single from his upcoming EP Walk a Mile in My Shoes — marking the start of his journey to break beyond Zimbabwe’s borders and share his sound with the world.

November: The Biggest Month Yet

November marks Wavio Records’ first birthday, and the celebrations are going to be huge. Every Friday in November, one of Wavio’s artists — Zulu Abantu, Khayor, Msiz’Kay and Krids — will be dropping new music. Four weeks. Four releases. One wave.

On Thursday, 7th November, we’re celebrating in style with Wavio Presents: Wavio Records 1st Birthday at Fusion Bar, Leeds. Headlining the night is Blackson — Ghanaian-blooded, Italian-raised, and a true Leeds scene veteran who has been a staple in the city’s grime and rap community for over a decade. Supporting acts include Zulu Abantu, Shwanga and Big Scotty, with DJ KC on the decks keeping energy levels high.

A statement from the Wavio team reads:

“When planning our birthday party, we knew we needed artists that would keep the energy going. The four artists on this line-up do that professionally. With DJ KC on the decks... the levels are undeniable.”

The Wave Doesn’t Stop Here

Looking beyond November, Wavio shows no signs of slowing down.

  • Zulu Abantu and Krids have publicly committed to releasing at least one track a month.

  • Msiz’Kay is preparing to drop his 8-track EP.

  • Khayor has more singles on the way, further expanding his sound.

The Wavio Wave is only getting stronger — and this is just the beginning.

Stay tuned, follow @wavio_records on Instagram, and ride the wave.
